Dan Jeffery and Carol Johnson were married on Saturday, November 7, in Carol Johnson and Dan JefferyHermiston, Oregon (not too far from Walla Walla, Washington). Dan met Carol while working in Oregon last summer, they corresponded all year, and decided to tie the knot this summer. The day before the summer camp where he was working ended, he got word that he had gotten the job he had applied for--so he has not been back to see us since. He is working as a Head Start Family Advocate. Dan has been attending an Episcopal church in the area and the last half of Carol's church most Sundays. Carol works as a Juvenile Probation Counselor, has three teenage sons, her parents live nearby, and she attends Living Water Foursquare Church. Dan's dog Maggie is joining their menagerie of one dog, three cats, and two fish!. We miss you so much, Dan, but we all send our very best wishes to you both!

CAPE TOWN, South Africa – Don't mess with Germany, on or off the field.
Miroslav Klose scored twice to move into a tie for second on the all-time World Cup scoring list, and Germany backed up its pre-game trash talk with an emphatic 4-0 rout of Argentina in the quarterfinals Saturday. The dominant display — along with Germany's two other four-goal games — should demand the attention of everyone still playing in South Africa.
"It was absolute class," Germany coach Joachim Loew said.
Hard to argue with that.
Argentina had been one of the tournament's darlings, with coach Diego Maradona's every move causing a stir and superstar Lionel Messi showing you don't need to score to be sublime. The Argentines rolled into the quarterfinals as one of only two teams to win all its games — the Netherlands was the other — and had been so powerful they never trailed.
No wonder a star-studded crowd was on hand at Green Point Stadium, with German chancellor Angela Merkel, Mick Jagger, Leonardo DiCaprio and South Africa's own Charlize Theron were all spotted in the VIP seats.
But Germany overwhelmed the Argentines, and shut down Messi in the process. The reigning FIFA world player of the year leaves South Africa without a goal, and was in tears after the game.
"He played a great World Cup," Maradona said. "And I tell you, to see Messi cry in the dressing room, whoever says that he doesn't feel pride for his shirt is stupid."
Maradona was equally devastated. He walked slowly to midfield with his hands jammed in his pockets when the game ended, and couldn't muster any energy or enthusiasm at his news conference.
"I'm as disappointed as all Argentinians," said Maradona, who cast doubt on his future as national coach. "To see my country lose a football match is very hard for someone who has worn the shirt."
Germany will play Spain, a 1-0 winner over Paraguay, in the semifinals Wednesday in Durban. This will be Germany's third straight trip to the semis and its 12th overall — nobody has more. But the three-time champions haven't won a title since 1990.
Maybe that's why their celebration was so low-key — the Germans are hoping for something bigger in a week. Players hugged and high-fived each other before walking around the edge of the field to salute the crowd. Even a post-game visit from Merkel was taken in stride.

The Bible has opened up its secrets concerning the timeline of history. This information was never previously known because God had closed up His Word blocking any attempt to gain knowledge of the end of the world. We read about this in the book of Daniel:
Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
However, now in our present day, God has opened up His Word (the Bible) to reveal a great deal of truth concerning the end of time (and many other teachings). Also, in the same chapter of Daniel, it says:
Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
God is now opening up His Word because we have arrived at the time of the end. For this reason, it has become very obvious to the serious student of the Bible that we are now living in the last few days of earth’s history.

…it will not be a surprise attack. In fact, regardless of when Israel attacks Iran the element of surprise does not exist. This confrontation has been discussed for several years and everybody knows about it so there will be no surprises. Israel is ready for it. Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas are ready for it. It’s just a matter of when.
July of 2010 has plenty of merit to be the month of the event. We already know that Iran has enough uranium for two nuclear bombs, it just has to be enriched to a higher grade. That right there is enough to get things started but there are other factors involved also.
The date will also depend upon the targets that Israel plans to hit. If the nuclear plant at Bushehr is on the target list, the window for attacking this plant before it goes online is about to close as we discussed in a previous news story.
This reactor takes a lot of nuclear fuel to run it, approximately 82-85 tons of fuel, which was delivered from Russia in January of 2008. This can produce a tremendous amount of radiation. Also, the spent fuel from this reactor can be reprocessed to plutonium to make atomic bombs.
It doesn’t make sense for Israel to knock out the enrichment facilities and leave this reactor and let Iran use the reactor and then they reprocess the spent fuel for the plutonium to make nuclear weapons.
Now let’s look at this scenario: let’s say Israel waits to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities after the Bushehr plant goes into operation. The plant is active and producing electricity and Israel bombs this plant. The explosion takes out the cooling system and the employees that run the reactor. They can’t shut it down and it overheats and the core explodes and goes into a nuclear meltdown and releases radiation into the atmosphere as the reactor did in Chernobyl in 1986 and turns into a scale 7 on the International Nuclear Events Scale.
Depending on wind direction, it could take the radiation cloud to anywhere in Iran, south across the Persian Gulf to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen or westward to Kuwait , Iraq, Jordan, Syria or even to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan etc.
Israel does not want to get into this situation to where a country has to be evacuated because of nuclear fallout. This would really put Israel into a heap of trouble.
So if the reactor at Bushehr is on the attack list, the attack must happen soon before the reactor goes into operation. As we stated before, Russia says it will go online in August and Iran says it will go online in September.
Either way, time is running out for Israel.
So a surprise attack is really out of the question. How can it be a surprise when the talk of Israel attacking Iran is all over the internet?
When Israel attacks, they will have to do it at a time when it is safest for their pilots to do so. This means during the night and use the darkness as a cover.
Now the darkest nights of the month will occur during the new moon when there is no moonlight shining upon the earth, which occurs on July 11th. Of course, it doesn’t have to be at the darkest point for Israel to attack, but it might help when Iran starts to shoot back at them. Anything Israel can do to protect their pilots should be done.
So If Israel is going to use the darkness of the new moon for an attack, then we could give it anywhere from let’s say the 6th to the 16th with the 11th of July being the date of the new moon.
But there are several reasons why this date could be delayed.
1. The nuclear reactor at Bushehr is not on the target list.
2. Israel is not concerned about radioactive fallout.
3. The reactor could go online in September instead of August.
4. The date could be changed for the reactor to go online.
5. Iran stops their nuclear program. (Yeah, right.)
If September is the true date for the reactor to go into operation, rather than August, then this could give Israel another month before the attack.
If the reactor at Bushehr is not on the target list, then Israel could possibly have another six months before they need to attack.
Either way, we are going to see some serious fireworks within the next one to six months.

According to Cuban revolutionary Fidel Castro, the United States and Israel will trigger a nuclear war before Friday that will cause the word’s richest countries to “suddenly disappear.”
Writing in his regular op-ed column “Reflections,” the former Cuban President states that missiles will fly as soon American and Israeli naval forces attempt to inspect Iranian merchant vessels.
I have absolutely no doubt that as soon as the American and Israeli warships are deployed –alongside the rest of the American military vessels positioned off the Iranian coasts– and they try to inspect the first merchant ship from that country, there will be a massive launching of missiles in both directions. At that moment exactly the terrible war will begin. It’s not possible to estimate how many vessels will be sunk or from what country.
The iconic Communist believes this conflagration will occur on or before July 2.
Obama has committed to attend the quarterfinals match on July 2, if his country’s team makes it to that stage. He supposedly knows better than anyone that the quarterfinals will not be contested because very serious developments will take place before that; or at least he should know.

Here is another little known fact for all the imperialists who think the U.S. has the right to do whatever it wants, wherever it wants, whenever it wants, to whoever it wants. It seems your dogma was run over by your karma.
Ships are not so secure or armed that a company of commandos could not be dropped on to a ship to commandeer the ship and ram it into an oil platform.
With the U.S. penchant for bombing Iraqi and Iranian oil platforms, how difficult would it be to send a torpedo or depth charge down a mile to detonate and destroy the subsurface well and then attack the platform? If the U.S. attacks Iran, does anyone think it is not likely they can and will attack oil platforms in the same manner the U.S. has attacked their platforms in the past? Iran does have submarines. Here is a great idea for terrorists or state actors who are looking for another way to attack America. What happens if the enemies we created decided to take the cue from the Gulf of Mexico disaster and the 9/11 disaster and combine the two and start ramming ships into oil platforms?
As Iran opened its bourse, a commodities market that Iran seeks to eventually be used to set benchmark prices for crude and for countries to buy and sell oil in currency other than the petrodollar, its internet cables we repeatedly cut. Experts concur that this could only happen through a deliberate act. Some of the cuts were attributed to ships dragging six ton anchors across the ocean floor. It is surmised that some of the other cuts were the direct result of submarines or saboteurs.
It is also interesting that the country the U.S. liberated from Saddam is now blanketed in depleted uranium. The people, free from Saddam, are now free to die from the poisoning caused by depleted uranium.
What you target and attack of the enemy’s can also be targeted and attacked by the enemy. Now that the U.S. has a vested interest in Iraq oil platforms working, its vulnerability is now in trying to protect that which it shown it was willing to destroy.

As the U.S. funded the Taliban and taught them how to expel invading powers, the U.S. military now faces defeat in Afghanistan by these same actors who learned these lessons exceedingly well. Now a country with no air force, navy, tanks, heavy weapons, or combined-arms army exposes the truth: No country ever had a military so powerful that it could prevent war in times of peace or guarantee victory in times of war.
As violence becomes the principle upon which the U.S. is founded, lying becomes its native language. It has been said that the U.S lies like the Israelis, and the Israelis lie like people blink. All this talk of democracy is rubbish if the government directs disinformation and propaganda against its citizens. Democracy depends on the truth, but government through deception is tyranny. We are not really free if we can't control our own government and its policies. And we will never do that if we remain ignorant. If the power elite get what they want through deception as opposed to force, this attack on republican self-governance is all the more dangerous because misplaced trust has allowed a nation to let an enemy inside the gates.
Protracted war, as the ones in the Middle East are, always serve to endanger the freedom of a democratic country, this is just the path down which our rulers in Washington have decided to take us. These crimes against humanity, regardless of what the facts for war end up proving in the way of malevolence of motive, will go unpunished as people decide to give mass murder legitimacy when committed as part of policy by actors that are more used car salesmen than statesmen.
Americans have witnessed the repeated failure of the military to impose peace by war, democracy by coercion, and unanimity by slaughtering dissidents. A nation of people who seem to refuse to submit will never grant their support to external invaders who attempt to establish order and impose their will through bullets and bombs. Most Americans do not know that under Saddam there were no incidents of suicide bombers. So, it can be said that it was Bush who brought car bombs to Iraq because of his ignorance of second and third order effects.

As the U.S. funded the Taliban and taught them how to expel invading powers, the U.S. military now faces defeat in Afghanistan by these same actors who learned these lessons exceedingly well. Now a country with no air force, navy, tanks, heavy weapons, or combined-arms army exposes the truth: No country ever had a military so powerful that it could prevent war in times of peace or guarantee victory in times of war.
As violence becomes the principle upon which the U.S. is founded, lying becomes its native language. It has been said that the U.S lies like the Israelis, and the Israelis lie like people blink. All this talk of democracy is rubbish if the government directs disinformation and propaganda against its citizens. Democracy depends on the truth, but government through deception is tyranny. We are not really free if we can't control our own government and its policies. And we will never do that if we remain ignorant. If the power elite get what they want through deception as opposed to force, this attack on republican self-governance is all the more dangerous because misplaced trust has allowed a nation to let an enemy inside the gates.
Protracted war, as the ones in the Middle East are, always serve to endanger the freedom of a democratic country, this is just the path down which our rulers in Washington have decided to take us. These crimes against humanity, regardless of what the facts for war end up proving in the way of malevolence of motive, will go unpunished as people decide to give mass murder legitimacy when committed as part of policy by actors that are more used car salesmen than statesmen.
Americans have witnessed the repeated failure of the military to impose peace by war, democracy by coercion, and unanimity by slaughtering dissidents. A nation of people who seem to refuse to submit will never grant their support to external invaders who attempt to establish order and impose their will through bullets and bombs. Most Americans do not know that under Saddam there were no incidents of suicide bombers. So, it can be said that it was Bush who brought car bombs to Iraq because of his ignorance of second and third order effects.

Last week twelve US warships and at least one Israeli warship passed through the Suez Canal on their way to the Red Sea. Included among the US fleet is the aircraft carrier, USS Harry S Truman. Today we learn that the Israeli Air Force have set up base at a Saudi airfield near Tabuk in north-west Saudi Arabia despite earlier denials from the Saudi government that it had given the Israelis permission to use its airspace to attack Iran. We also learn that American and possibly Israel forces are also gathering at bases in Azerbaijan at the north-west border of Iran.
While Israel’s war against Iran has absolutely nothing to do with Iran’s nuclear weapons program – Iran doesn’t have one and the Israelis and the US are fully aware of that – Israel and the US will need to launch any attack against Iran by first attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities in order to maintain the illusion that the casus belli for the war is, indeed, Iran’s nuclear weapons program. Since many of Iran’s nuclear facilities are in the north-west corner of the country, it should not be surprising that Azerbaijan be used by Israel and the US as a springboard to launch their attack against Iran. However, once the initial attack has been launched, US and Israeli air forces will then likely concentrate on pounding Iranian political and defence institutions for the purpose forcing Iran to capitulate and sue for a peace through the UN which the US will conditionally concede to providing Iran rids itself of President Ahmadinejad and gives up its nuclear program.
But, while the attack on Iran will be seen by the world as the main event, the real purpose for the war will be happening on Israel’s doorstep.
At the same time as Iran is being attacked, Israel, using the excuse of pre-empting retaliation for attacking Iran, will attack both Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza and then move to occupy south Lebanon up to the Litani River and the Gaza Strip. Israel will also likely fully occupy the West Bank.
This is the scenario that the US and Israel would prefer to see happen; a quick overwhelming move against all of Israel and America’s enemies that concludes with the defeat of the Iranian regime and, thus, regime change, together with the demise of Hezbollah and Hamas. This then will give the Israelis a free hand in creating a Greater Israel that ultimately includes the Gaza Strip, south Lebanon up to the Litani River, the West Bank and the Golan Heights. It will also provide the US with an even stronger ally in the Middle East and also a neutered enemy.
But can it work the way the Israelis and the US plan?

Iran is a vast country that is some three times larger than Iraq. The US, considering its current ground troop commitments in Iraq and Afghanistan would not be able to effectively invade Iran. The instant any attack is launched against Iran, or Hezbollah or Hamas, there will likely be instant retaliation against Israel by at least Hezbollah and possibly Hamas. Both entities would, by this stage, realise that this fight will be to the finish. The fighting therefore will be intense and fearsome and there will be many casualties – mostly, of course, civilians. In a worst case scenario, depending on the intensity of the bombardment of Israel by Hezbollah, Israel may threaten the use of nuclear weapons against Lebanon unless Hezbollah cease their rocket attacks against Israel. Likewise, if Iran retaliates with a rocket attack against Israel, both the US and Israel may threaten the use of nuclear weapons against Iran. In the very worst case scenario, if Iran or Hezbollah used chemical or biological weapons, Israel and /or the US would actually use nuclear weapons with little or no warning in retaliation.
Whatever happens, a war against Iran will have devastating consequences one way or the other and for all sides.
It’s time for the peoples of the world to stand up and be heard before it is too late. Source

A low-pressure area over the western Caribbean now has an 80% chance of developing into a tropical depression as it heads toward the Yucatan Peninsula and the Gulf of Mexico, the National Hurricane Center reports in their 2:00 p.m. update.
If a depression and then a storm does form, it would be named Alex, and could play havoc with Gulf oil cleanup operations. Tropical depressions have wind speeds of below 39 mph, and become named tropical storms when their wind speeds surpass 39 mph.
An Air Force reconnaissance plane will be investigating the disturbance later today to determine whether a tropical cyclone has formed, the center says.
"Shower activity has become a little more concentrated this morning ... and surface pressures are falling," the center reports. "Upper-level winds are gradually becoming more conducive for development ... and the system is likely to become a tropical depression before it reaches the Yucatan Peninsula in a couple of days."
Regardless of whether the system is a depression or named tropical storm, extremely heavy rain will affect Central America and the western Caribbean over the next few days, according to meteorologist Jeff Masters of the Weather Underground.
Honduras will be the nation most at risk from the system, he notes, as 4-8 inches of rain could drench northern parts of the nation over the next two days. Heavy rain of 3-6 inches can also be expected in northeast Nicaragua, Cuba, Belize, the Cayman Islands and Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.

For weeks I've been reading stories of the methane gas bubble, or the methane gas bubbles under the waters near, or under the site of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. I, of course, have no idea of the truth of any danger warnings for the area...but they ARE scary. See a video below.
Methane Gas Bubbles Under Gulf Floor?
There seem to be two schools of thought. The most prevalent is that high methane gas levels can deplete the oxygen and kill all the sea life - that's all of the sea life. ATexas AandM University oceanography professor, John Kessler, has measured the methane levels in the spill area, and he says they are very high but have not yet reached a critical level. Two months from now might be a different story, he says:
Methane occurs naturally in sea water, but high concentrations can encourage the growth of microbes that gobble up oxygen needed by marine life.
This report out of New Orleans:
At least 4.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas — and possibly almost twice that amount — have leaked since April 20. That's based on estimates from the U.S. Geological Survey's "flow team" that 2,900 cubic feet of&
"This is the most vigorous methane eruption in modern human history," said John Kessler, a Texas AandM University oceanographer.
Small microbes that live in the sea have been feeding on the oil and natural gas in the water and are consuming larger quantities of oxygen, which they need to digest food. As they draw more oxygen from the water, it creates two problems. When oxygen levels drop low enough, the breakdown of oil grinds to a halt; and as it is depleted in the water, most life can't be sustained.
The second 'event' being talked about is an explosion of a methane gas bubble near the spill site so large that it ruptures the ocean floor, explodes far above the water surface, causes wide death and destruction, with tsunamis following - not to mention that the existing well-head will be obliterated:
The stretching and compression of the earth's crust causes minor cracking, called faults, and the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico has many such fault areas. Fault areas run along the Gulf of Mexico and well inland in Mexico, South and East Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the extreme western Florida Panhandle. The close coupling of new fissures and cracks with natural fault areas could prove to be lethal.
A methane bubble this large -- if able to escape from under the ocean floor through fissures, cracks and fault areas -- is likely to cause a gas explosion. With the emerging evidence of fissures, the tacit fear now is this: the methane bubble may rupture the seabed and may then erupt with an explosion within the Gulf of Mexico waters. The bubble is likely to explode upwards propelled by more than 50,000 psi of pressure, bursting through the cracks and fissures of the sea floor, fracturing and rupturing miles of ocean bottom with a single extreme explosion.
Numerous documents on this subject say there is some belief that methane bubbles have been the cause of disappearing ships and airplanes in the Bermuda Triangle. Who knew?
The Daily Mail says a methane gas bubble actually triggered the explosion on the rig:
The Gulf of Mexico oil rig disaster was caused by a bubble of methane gas that shot oil 240ft into the air while BP executives were on board celebrating the platform’s safety record.
The highly combustible gas burst through several seals and barriers before exploding, according to interviews with rig workers conducted during BP’s internal investigation.
Workers on the Deepwater Horizon exploration rig, 50 miles off the Louisiana coast, told investigators that they set a cement seal at the bottom of the well, then attempted to put a second seal below the sea floor.
A chemical reaction caused by the setting cement created heat and a gas bubble which destroyed the seal.
Safety adviser Professor Robert Bea, of the University of California, said: ‘A small bubble becomes a really big bubble, so the expanding bubble becomes like a cannon shooting the gas into your face.’
Up on the rig, the first thing workers noticed was the sea water in the drill column suddenly shooting back at them, rocketing 240ft in the air, he said. Then gas surfaced and flooded into an adjoining room with exposed ignition sources.
‘That’s where the first explosion happened,’ said Professor Bea. ‘Then there was a series of explosions that subsequently ignited the oil that was coming from below.’
The BP executives at the party were injured but survived, according to one account.
A question: If the Gulf Coast area is found to be in danger of an enormous explosion that could kill or maim the people and demolish property in the affected areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida, would our Government believe it and evacuate the area? Just asking...
The following video describing the dangers of methane gas bubbles cannot be verified - at least by this blog. I don't know who is doing the talking - it sounds like a radio interview. A question: If the Gulf Coast area is found to be in danger of an enormous explosion that could kill or maim the people and demolish property in the affected areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida, would our Government believe it and evacuate the area? Just asking...
The following video describing the dangers of methane gas bubbles cannot be verified - at least by this blog. I don't know who is doing the talking - it sounds like a radio interview. It may be the biggest hoax in modern history, but it offers food for thought. If you have a comment about the veracity of the information, please share it with me in comments.

(SOTT.net) As early as May 9 it was announced that FEMA evacuation protocol for forest fires in and around Tampa, Florida could be activated at a moment's notice in the event of the oil slick approaching Florida's coastline. One proposal is to undergo a 'controlled burn' of surface oil in the Gulf to prevent the oil reaching Florida's coast. This would result in highly toxic fumes blowing ashore. In fact, toxic fumes have already been reported elsewhere as Gulf residents complain of breathing difficulties and nausea:
Oil is semi-volatile, which means that it can evaporate into the air and create a heavy vapor that stays near the ground -- in the human breathing zone. When winds whip up oily sea water, the spray contains tiny droplets -- basically a fume -- of oil, which are small enough to be inhaled deep into the lungs. We know that's happening in the Gulf Coast, because people are reporting a heavy oily smell in the air. Already my colleagues in Louisiana are reporting that people in the coastal community of Venice, Louisiana are suffering from nausea, vomiting, headaches, and difficulty breathing.

Hi all,
Making this quick, don't feel well. About 4:15pm or so eastern, coming back from Tampa, Florida north on Veteran's Expressway...about 7 miles perhaps from SR 54...it sprinkled some gray watery and solid black oil on my car. Thought it was bugs, but so fast did not make sense and windshield wipers just smeared it. Got out of car at store and looked on the paint and solid black dots on my car...I touch? huh? it's wet? it's OIL!!!!!
I had several folks verify it before I sprayed it off and it came off easier than the few love bugs. Two hours later still wet like OIL! nope, not water, smell it, OIL!!! CONTINUES HERE

Israel National News is reporting :
Egypt allowed at least one Israeli and 11 American warships to pass through the Suez Canal as an Iranian flotilla flotilla approaches Gaza.
What should we make of the fact that 11 U.S. warships and an Israeli warship are sailing up the Suez Canal on their way to the Red Sea?
Well, this is - on the surface - a faceoff over Iran's support for relief ships trying to sail into Gaza. Specifically, Iran has said it will have Iranian military ships escort the flotilla providing humanitarian goods to Gaza to make sure it arrives safely. On the other hand, the U.S. has backed Israel's blockade of Gaza.
Tensions are obviously high between the U.S. and Israel, on the one hand, and Iran on the other. The U.S. and Israel have talked for years of bombing Iran's nuclear sites.
As the Telegraph wrote last July:
Israeli warships have deployed to the Red Sea for what has been described as a rehearsal for a possible attack on Iran
Israeli and Egyptian officials said two ships had sailed through the Suez Canal into the Red Sea.
Media reports in Israel said the two Saar-class missile ships had been sent as a "message" to the Tehran government....
An armada of U.S. warships in the Red Sea is similarly meant to convey a credible threat to attack Iran.
Indeed, because the Red Sea connects with the Arabian Sea (and see this), a large navy presence in the Red Sea will escalate tensions dramatically.
This could quickly lead to a real confrontation. This is especially true because warships from hostile nations could be in very close quarters, and one mistake (such as accidentally bumping into a foreign ship) could unintentionally lead to war.
But we can't look at this faceoff in a vaccum.
Intelligence Failures
Remember that there have been numerous intelligence failures in the past which have led to war.
For example, the U.S. Navy's own historians now say that the sinking of the USS Maine -- the justification for America's entry into the Spanish-American War -- was probably caused by an internal explosion of coal, rather than an attack by the Spanish.
It is also now well-accepted that the Gulf of Tonkin Incident which led to the Vietnam war was a fiction (confirmed here).
And two lies were used to justify the 1991 Gulf War: the statement that Iraqis murdered Kuwaiti babies and the statement that a quarter of a million Iraqi troops were massed on the border with Saudi Arabia (see also this article)(technically, the statement about Kuwaiti babies did not come from the U.S. government, but from a public relations firm hired by the government).
"He Did It"
While - as documented above - inaccurate reports have helped rally support for war, other methods for drumming up support have been used as well.
As I wrote in February:
Forget the claims and allegations that false flag terror - governments attacking people and then blaming others in order to create animosity towards those blamed - has been used throughout history.
This essay will solely discuss government admissions to the use of false flag terror.
For example:
* The CIA admits that it hired Iranians in the 1950's to pose as Communists and stage bombings in Iran in order to turn the country against its democratically-elected president
* Israel admits that an Israeli terrorist cell operating in Egypt planted bombs in several buildings, including U.S. diplomatic facilities, then left behind "evidence" implicating the Arabs as the culprits (one of the bombs detonated prematurely, allowing the Egyptians to identify the bombers, and several of the Israelis later confessed) (and see this and this)
* The well-respected former Indonesian president admits that the government probably had a role in the Bali bombings
* The former Italian Prime Minister, an Italian judge, and the former head of Italian counterintelligence admit that NATO, with the help of the Pentagon and CIA, carried out terror bombings in Italy and blamed the communists, in order to rally people’s support for their governments in Europe in their fight against communism. As one participant in this formerly-secret program stated: "You had to attack civilians, people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple. They were supposed to force these people, the Italian public, to turn to the state to ask for greater security" (and see this)(Italy joined NATO in 1949, years before the bombings occurred)
* As admitted by the U.S. government, recently declassified documents show that in the 1960's, the American Joint Chiefs of Staff signed off on a plan to blow up AMERICAN airplanes (using an elaborate plan involving the switching of airplanes), and also to commit terrorist acts on American soil, and then to blame it on the Cubans in order to justify an invasion of Cuba. See the following ABC news report; the official documents; and watch this interview with the former Washington Investigative Producer for ABC's World News Tonight with Peter Jennings [while the Joint Chiefs of Staff pushed for Operation Northwoods to be carried out, cooler heads prevailed; President Kennedy or his Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara apparently vetoed the plan]
There are many other instances of false flag attacks used throughout history proven by the historical evidence. See this, this and this. The above are only some examples of governments admitting to using false flag terror.
Iran
Many high-level people have warned of the use of a false flag attack to justify war with Iran. For example:
* Jimmy Carter's former National Security Adviser and Obama's initial foreign policy adviser- Zbigniew Brzezinski - told the Senate that a terrorist act might be carried out in the U.S. and falsely blamed on Iran to justify war against that nation
* Congressman Ron Paul told Congress: "I am concerned, however, that a contrived Gulf of Tonkin- type incident may occur to gain popular support for an attack on Iran"
* And a member of the British Parliament (George Galloway) stated: "there is a very real danger" that the American government will stage a false flag terror attack in order to justify war against Iran
Thus, if any elements within the U.S. or Israeli government wish to find an excuse to attack Iran, they could either manufacture false intelligence or carry out a false flag attack.
A war with Iran would benefit no one other than the giant defense contractors would plunge the world into a very deep depression (notwithstanding George W. Bush's sentiment to the contrary). Indeed, if China and Russia side with Iran, the U.S. might end up losing against Iran.
May cool heads prevail.

Thus, if any elements within the U.S. or Israeli government wish to find an excuse to attack Iran, they could either manufacture false intelligence or carry out a false flag attack.

In direct contradiction of the White House storyline, the former Honolulu elections official who caused a national stir this month when he told WND Barack Obama was "definitely" not born in Hawaii, and that no long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate even exists for the president in the Aloha State is now reaffirming those claims to a network television affiliate.
Tim Adams, the former senior elections clerk for the city and county of Honolulu was interviewed by Gene Birk of ABC affiliate WBKO-TV in Bowling Green, Ky.

"As of the time I was in Hawaii working in the elections office," said Adams, "we had many people who were asking about the eligibility of Senator Obama to be president. I was told at the time there is no long-form birth record, which would have been the case if President Obama was born in [a] hospital in Honolulu. There is no such form in Hawaii."

As WND first reported June 10, Honolulu's current elections administrator, Glen Takahashi, confirmed that Tim Adams was indeed "senior elections clerk" in 2008, in charge of verifying voters' identity, especially those involving absentee ballots.
Adams, 45, also noted he's willing to testify about his claims in a court of law.
He continued in his TV interview: "[Obama] does have a [Certification] of Live Birth, which is given to children of families who are residents of Hawaii when children are born outside the state. So, I assert that he was born outside of Hawaii. Now, we can't tell you where he was born. Some of his family members said that he had been born while his mother was on a trip overseas.
This short-form Certification of Live Birth image, which is not the same as a long-form, hospital-generated Certificate of Live Birth, was released by the Obama campaign June 2008.
"When I mentioned this, it got people's attention. They also did not like my conclusions that since President Obama does have a [Certification] of Live Birth from the state of Hawaii, that he was born a U.S. citizen. And during the initial part of the campaign, when questions about his eligibility to be president came up – including Senator McCain because he was born in Panama – that both these men were vetted by the same process as any other presidential candidate. So, while we may not agree, some people say that because of Article 2 of the Constitution, President Obama was not eligible to be president. That's not a question that we can answer.
"The people who are in charge of saying who is eligible to run for president have already vouched that he was indeed an eligible candidate. If we disagree with that, we don't need to go after the man. We need to look at the process by which candidates are vetted for public office."
The interviewer, apparently looking to reaffirm what he was just told, asked Adams again, "So let me understand what you're saying. There is no long-form birth certificate, because he was not born on U.S. soil."
"Correct," responded Adams.
"But there is a Certification of Birth, which is what this is," said Birk, as he looked at a photocopy of Obama's purported short-form, computer-generated Certification of Live Birth, a document which does not specify the hospital where Obama might have been born nor any doctor's name or signature.
"A facsimile of it has been put online," said Adams.
Birk responded, "Yes, and in your opinion, this means regardless of where he was born, he was a U.S. citizen at birth."
"Yes," said Adams, reiterating his personal opinion that Obama is eligible to hold office and that the question would have been answered when the Democratic National Committee vetted him to run for public office prior to the 2008 election.

Adams' claims are starkly different from those of the White House.
"The noble truth is that the president was born in Hawaii, a state of the United States of America," Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told WND.
Linda Lingle, the Republican governor of Hawaii, has also publicly voiced the alleged exact location of Obama's birth, saying "the president was, in fact, born at Kapi'olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii."
Since WND's original report, Adams has come under fire from some critics online who suggested Adams may hold an anti-black philosophy and that his assertions were possibly racially motivated.
Adams, though, said it's people still asking Obama to prove his eligibility who tend to have race-based sentiments against the commander in chief.

"Some people are basically racist," Adams said. "It's a question of race. They don't like having someone who's not white, or they don't like someone who's from such a different heritage as President Obama, because his family has ties to Africa. His family also has ties to middle America, so to me it's also a non-issue. The other thing is, is he is a liberal, he's a Democrat. There's a lot of political rancor in the country in the last decade, starting with President Bush, and then we had 9/11. We've had the wars overseas. And this entire fight between the Left and the Right has become so Balkanized that anything someone finds, they say, 'Oh look, he lied about being born inside the United States. There must be something terrible there!' But they're extrapolating something that's not true."
Adams also lamented the poor state of civil discourse in America.
"I think we're getting to the point where no one can talk to anyone else," he explained. "The rhetoric has become so divisive, that there is no way for us to work out these issues that our country's facing. So I kind of dove in and tried to start a conversation and have paid for it dearly."
When asked what he had learned from this experience, Adams said, "It's very difficult for anyone to speak publicly on a controversial issue in the country, even if they do so with the best intentions."
Adams, a Hillary Clinton supporter who now teaches English at Western Kentucky University while he works on his master's degree, burst onto the national scene in a WND story in which he asserted that Obama was not born in Hawaii as the White House claims and that a long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate for Obama does not exist there.
"There is no birth certificate," he said. "It's like an open secret. There isn't one. Everyone in the government there knows this."

"I had direct access to the Social Security database, the national crime computer, state driver's license information, international passport information, basically just about anything you can imagine to get someone's identity," Adams explained. "I could look up what bank your home mortgage was in. I was informed by my boss that we did not have a birth record [for Obama]."
At the time, there were conflicting reports that Obama had been born at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, as well as the Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women and Children, also located in the capital city. So Adams says his office checked with both facilities.
"They told us, 'We don't have a birth certificate for him,'" he said. "They told my supervisor, either by phone or by e-mail, neither one has a document that a doctor signed off on saying they were present at this man's birth."
To date, no Hawaiian hospital has provided documented confirmation Obama was born at its facility.
Adams, 45, stressed, "In my professional opinion, he definitely was not born in Hawaii. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that he was not born in Hawaii because there is no legal record of him being born there. If someone called and asked about it, I could not tell them that person was born in the state."
He now expects his former co-workers still working in the elections office to say little, if anything, about the nonexistent birth certificate because they fear for their jobs.
"If you're working in the civil service and you say this, you're done," Adams said. "Don't expect to have a good career, especially since the governor is on the other side. Embarassing them is not good for your career."

To date, President Obama has still not provided simple, incontrovertible proof of his exact birthplace. That information would be included on his long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate, which Obama has steadfastly refused to release amid a flurry of conflicting reports.
The White House has only proffered on the Internet a "Certification of Live Birth" to assert he was born in Hawaii, but that document was available to children not born in Hawaii at the time of Obama's birth.
Many people remain unaware a child could be born somewhere else and still receive a Hawaii Certification of Live Birth. State law specifically allows "an adult or the legal parents of a minor child" to apply to the health department and, upon unspecified proof, be given the birth document.
"Anyone can get that [Certification of Live Birth]," said Adams. "They are normally given if you give birth at home or while traveling overseas. We have a lot of Asian population [in Hawaii]. It's quite common for people to come back and get that."
As WND reported last July, the Kapi'olani Medical Center trumpeted – then later concealed – a letter allegedly written by President Obama in which he ostensibly declares his birth at the facility.
A photograph taken by the Kapi'olani Medical Center for WND shows a letter allegedly written by President Obama on embossed White House stationery in which he declares the Honolulu hospital to be "the place of my birth." The hospital, after publicizing the letter then refusing to confirm it even existed, is now vouching for its authenticity, but not its content. The White House has yet to verify any aspect of the letter.
"As a beneficiary of the excellence of the Kapi'olani Medical Center – the place of my birth – I am pleased to add my voice to your chorus of supporters," Obama purportedly wrote.
This excerpt from the alleged Obama letter is perhaps the first formal declaration from the president about his exact birthplace. The White House has still not confirmed if the letter or its contents are authentic.
But the authenticity of that letter remains in doubt. Since WND raised questions about the veracity of the letter itself and its content, the White House has refused to say if the message is real and if its text originated with the president.
Besides his actual birth documentation, documentation that remains concealed for Obama includes kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.

Egypt allowed at least one Israeli and 11 American warships to pass through the Suez Canal as an Iranian flotilla approaches Gaza. Egypt closed the canal to protect the ships with thousands of soldiers, according to the British-based Arabic language newspaper Al Quds al-Arabi.
One day prior to the report on Saturday, Voice of Israel government radio reported that the Egyptian government denied an Israeli request not to allow the Iranian flotilla to use the Suez Canal to reach Gaza, in violation of the Israeli sea embargo on the Hamas-controlled area.
International agreements require Egypt to keep the Suez open even for warships, but the armada, led by the USS Truman with 5,000 sailors and marines, was the largest in years. Egypt closed the canal to fishing and other boats as the armada moved through the strategic passageway that connects the Red and Mediterranean Seas.
Despite Egypt’s reported refusal to block the canal to Iranian boats, the clearance for the American-Israeli fleet may be a warning to Iran it may face military opposition if the Iranian Red Crescent ship continues on course to Gaza.
The warships may exercise the right to inspect the Iranian boat for the illegal transport or weapons. Newsweek reported that Egyptian authorities could stop the ship for weeks, using technicalities such as requiring that any official documents be translated from Farsi into Arabic.
The magazine’s website also reported that the Iranian navy is the weakest part of its armed forces. Tehran has already backed down from announced intentions to escort the Iranian ships with "volunteer marines” from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
The Iranian news site Hamsayeh.net reported, “The move might be in connection to U.S. self-inflicted embargo against Iran aimed at inspecting Iran bound ships for suspected goods related to the country’s nuclear program.”
Another battle on the high seas may involve one, and possibly two, Lebanese vessels that are aimed at challenging Israel’s sovereignty over the Gaza coastal waters. Hizbullah, gearing up for a reaction to a possible clash between the Israeli Navy (pictured) and the Lebanese boats, has deployed rocket units near Lebanese ports, according to unofficial military sources.
Israel has warned U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon that Israel will use force, if necessary, to stop the boats, one of which is carrying approximately 70 women passengers and crew organized by Hizbullah supporter Samar al-Hajj. Her husband is one of several jailed suspects involved in the assassination of former Lebanese anti-Syrian Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
Hizbullah has denied it is connected with the Lebanese flotilla, but it has been reported that Al Hajj met with Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah last month. (IsraelNationalNews.com)

A dire report circulating in the Kremlin today that was prepared for Prime Minister Putin by Anatoly Sagalevich of Russia's Shirshov Institute of Oceanology warns that the Gulf of Mexico
sea floor has been fractured “beyond all repair” and our World should begin preparing for an ecological disaster “beyond comprehension” unless “extraordinary measures” are undertaken to stop the massive flow of oil into our Planet’s eleventh largest body of water.
Most important to note about Sagalevich’s warning is that he and his fellow scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences are the only human beings to have actually been to the Gulf of Mexico oil leak site after their being called to the disaster scene by British oil giant BP shortly after the April 22nd sinking of the Deepwater Horizon oil platform.
BP’s calling on Sagalevich after this catastrophe began is due to his being the holder of the World’s record for the deepest freshwater dive and his expertise with Russia’s two Deep Submergence Vehicles MIR 1 and MIR 2 [photo below] which are able to take their crews to the depth of 6,000 meters (19,685 ft).
According to Sagalevich’s report, the oil leaking into the Gulf of Mexico is not just coming from the 22 inch well bore site being shown on American television, but from at least 18 other sites on the “fractured seafloor” with the largest being nearly 11 kilometers (7 miles) from where the Deepwater Horizon sank and is spewing into these precious waters an estimated 2 million gallons of oil a day.

More than twelve U.S. and Israeli warships, including an aircraft carrier, passed through the Suez Canal on Friday and are headed for the Red Sea. “According to eyewitnesses, the U.S. battleships were the largest to have crossed the Canal in many years,” reported the London-based newspaper al-Quds al-Arabi on Saturday.

Egyptians report the armada includes a U.S. aircraft carrier.
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported Egyptian opposition members criticized the government for cooperating with the U.S. and Israeli forces and allowing the passage of the ships through Egyptian territorial waters. The Red Sea is the most direct route to the Persian Gulf from the Mediterranean.
Retired Egyptian General Amin Radi, chairman of the national security affairs committee, told the paper that “the decision to declare war on Iran is not easy, and Israel, due to its wild nature, may start a war just to remain the sole nuclear power in the region,” according to Yedioth Internet, an Israeli news site.
The passage of a warship armada through the Suez Canal and headed for the Persian Gulf and Iran is apparently not deemed important enough to be reported by the corporate media in the United States.

More than twelve U.S. and Israeli warships, including an aircraft carrier, passed through the Suez Canal on Friday and are headed for the Red Sea. “According to eyewitnesses, the U.S. battleships were the largest to have crossed the Canal in many years,” reported the London-based newspaper al-Quds al-Arabi on Saturday.

Egyptians report the armada includes a U.S. aircraft carrier.
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported Egyptian opposition members criticized the government for cooperating with the U.S. and Israeli forces and allowing the passage of the ships through Egyptian territorial waters. The Red Sea is the most direct route to the Persian Gulf from the Mediterranean.
Retired Egyptian General Amin Radi, chairman of the national security affairs committee, told the paper that “the decision to declare war on Iran is not easy, and Israel, due to its wild nature, may start a war just to remain the sole nuclear power in the region,” according to Yedioth Internet, an Israeli news site.
The passage of a warship armada through the Suez Canal and headed for the Persian Gulf and Iran is apparently not deemed important enough to be reported by the corporate media in the United States.

Test results indicate a setback in Bret Michaels' condition, a message posted on the U.S. rocker's Facebook page said.
The musician is suffering a side effect from his brain hemorrhage called hyponatremia, which is described as a lack of sodium in the body that leads to seizures.
Michaels, 47, is best known as the front man for the band Poison. He is also a contestant on the current season of TV's "The Celebrity Apprentice."
He has been hospitalized in an intensive care unit since suffering the brain hemorrhage last Thursday. He reportedly was transported to the undisclosed medical facility after suffering a severe headache.
Michaels, who is diabetic, was also hospitalized earlier this month for an emergency appendectomy.
"Due to the severity of his condition, Bret Michaels continues to remain hospitalized in an intensive care unit at an undisclosed hospital. He remains in critical but stable condition according to his doctors," said the posting on Michaels' Facebook page Tuesday.
"Doctors state Michaels is very lucky as his condition could have been fatal," the message continued. "With further testing and rehabilitation, they are hopeful that Bret will gradually improve as the blood surrounding the brain dissolves and is reabsorbed into his system, which can be a very painful recovery and take several weeks to months. Michaels remains under 24-hour observation in the ICU and is in positive spirits. He is responding well to tests and treatments. Even though today was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday." (c) UPI

LOS ANGELES -- New medical tests show that rocker turned reality star Bret Michaels has suffered a setback in his recovery from a brain hemorrhage, according to a statement posted on his website Tuesday.
Still, doctors say they are hopeful Michaels, 47, will make a full recovery, according to the statement posted by road manager Janna Elias.
"Test results indicate a setback in Bret Michaels' condition, a side effect from the brain hemorrhage called hyponatremia, a lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures," Elias said.
Michaels is responding well to tests and treatments, according to Elias.

"Even though today was a minor setback doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday."
E! reported Tuesday that the former Poison front-man is being treated at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.
Michaels' publicist had not revealed the city or hospital where he was being treated, citing privacy concerns.
Tuesday's statement was also the most detailed update on Michaels' condition released so far.
"Michaels' medical workup demonstrated findings of a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a type of stroke that causes bleeding in the fluid-filled spaces around the base of the brain," the statement said. "It presents itself suddenly as the sound of a loud gunshot or thunderclap at the back of the head causing severe cranial pain and muscle spasms."
Elias said Michaels has undergone many tests, including angiograms, CT scans, MRIs and transcranial dopplers (TCDs).
"With further testing and rehabilitation, they are hopeful that Bret will gradually improve as the blood surrounding the brain dissolves and is reabsorbed into his system, which can be a very painful recovery and take several weeks to months," the statement said.
There has been a lot of speculation as to what could have caused Michaels' brain bleed, and Elias addressed that in Tuesday's statement.
"Many people are speculating Michaels' head injury suffered from a prop striking the singer at the Tony awards last June is the cause," she said. "Additional studies are planned throughout the week to hopefully detect the exact cause of the rupture."
According to Michaels' reps, the singer was rushed to a Los Angeles area hospital after complaining of an excruciating headache the night of April 22nd.
The singer's latest health issue comes just days after he underwent an emergency appendectomy in San Antonio, Texas, on April 12.
After the surgery, Michaels transferred to a facility that specializes in post-surgical care of diabetic patients.
His diabetes is well publicized, and he has donated all money raised during his "Celebrity Apprentice" stint to the American Diabetes Association.
It is not yet known whether his brain hemorrhage is related to his diabetes, or to his recent surgery.
In a note to his fans, the rocker joked about being taken care of by "hot nurses" but also acknowledged the pain he was experiencing.
"I have a pretty good threshold for pain, but this one hurts."
The rocker is currently a contestant on Donald Trump's NBC competitive reality series, "The Celebrity Apprentice." He has also starred on VH1's "Rock of Love."
Donald Trump said in a statement Friday that he was "deeply saddened" to hear of Michaels' condition.
"He's a great competitor and champion, and I hope he will be fine," Trump said.
On "Celebrity Apprentice," Michaels has been concerned of late with his daughter's health.
She has been tested for diabetes after Michaels said recently "she is showing all the signs."
Doctors can't find the source of the bleeding.

LOS ANGELES -- New medical tests show that rocker turned reality star Bret Michaels has suffered a setback in his recovery from a brain hemorrhage, according to a statement posted on his website Tuesday.
Still, doctors say they are hopeful Michaels, 47, will make a full recovery, according to the statement posted by road manager Janna Elias.
"Test results indicate a setback in Bret Michaels' condition, a side effect from the brain hemorrhage called hyponatremia, a lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures," Elias said.
Michaels is responding well to tests and treatments, according to Elias.

"Even though today was a minor setback doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday."
E! reported Tuesday that the former Poison front-man is being treated at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.
Michaels' publicist had not revealed the city or hospital where he was being treated, citing privacy concerns.
Tuesday's statement was also the most detailed update on Michaels' condition released so far.
"Michaels' medical workup demonstrated findings of a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a type of stroke that causes bleeding in the fluid-filled spaces around the base of the brain," the statement said. "It presents itself suddenly as the sound of a loud gunshot or thunderclap at the back of the head causing severe cranial pain and muscle spasms."
Elias said Michaels has undergone many tests, including angiograms, CT scans, MRIs and transcranial dopplers (TCDs).
"With further testing and rehabilitation, they are hopeful that Bret will gradually improve as the blood surrounding the brain dissolves and is reabsorbed into his system, which can be a very painful recovery and take several weeks to months," the statement said.
There has been a lot of speculation as to what could have caused Michaels' brain bleed, and Elias addressed that in Tuesday's statement.
"Many people are speculating Michaels' head injury suffered from a prop striking the singer at the Tony awards last June is the cause," she said. "Additional studies are planned throughout the week to hopefully detect the exact cause of the rupture."
According to Michaels' reps, the singer was rushed to a Los Angeles area hospital after complaining of an excruciating headache the night of April 22nd.
The singer's latest health issue comes just days after he underwent an emergency appendectomy in San Antonio, Texas, on April 12.
After the surgery, Michaels transferred to a facility that specializes in post-surgical care of diabetic patients.
His diabetes is well publicized, and he has donated all money raised during his "Celebrity Apprentice" stint to the American Diabetes Association.
It is not yet known whether his brain hemorrhage is related to his diabetes, or to his recent surgery.
In a note to his fans, the rocker joked about being taken care of by "hot nurses" but also acknowledged the pain he was experiencing.
"I have a pretty good threshold for pain, but this one hurts."
The rocker is currently a contestant on Donald Trump's NBC competitive reality series, "The Celebrity Apprentice." He has also starred on VH1's "Rock of Love."
Donald Trump said in a statement Friday that he was "deeply saddened" to hear of Michaels' condition.
"He's a great competitor and champion, and I hope he will be fine," Trump said.
On "Celebrity Apprentice," Michaels has been concerned of late with his daughter's health.
She has been tested for diabetes after Michaels said recently "she is showing all the signs."

Some people are seeing a flying cross, or perhaps a Star of David.
Others say it resembles a ninja-style throwing blade or even a science-fiction spaceship from such Hollywood creations as "Star Wars," "Star Trek," "Babylon 5" or "The Last Starfighter."
The Hubble Space Telescope has observed a mysterious, X-shaped debris pattern and trailing streamers of dust that may have been the result of a head-on collision between two asteroids. Click image for larger view.
While scientists don't think it's a comet, they're not exactly sure of the precise origin of the incredible object soaring some 90 million miles from Earth, snapped just a few weeks ago by the Hubble Space Telescope.
"I've seen thousands of astronomical images over my career, but this is one of the few absolute jaw-droppers: A flying X-pattern with trailing streamers," said Ray Villard, a contributing writer to Discovery News. "Whatever it is, nothing quite like it has ever before been seen in the heavens."

Even the experts who study celestial phenomena seem somewhat perplexed.
"We're still trying to really figure out what it is," University of Arizona planetary scientist Jim Scotti told National Geographic. Scotti is on a team observing the object from the Kitt Peak National Observatory outside Tucson.
Some think the mysterious space object has a shape similar to that of a gunship depicted in the 1984 movie, "The Last Starfighter."
"The truth is, we're still struggling to understand what this means," comet expert David Jewitt at UCLA told Britain's Daily Mail. "It's most likely the result of a recent collision between two asteroids."
If it is indeed the result of such a collision, it would be the first time astronomers have gazed upon the immediate result of such a crash.
The official statement from America's space agency indicates:
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has observed a mysterious X-shaped debris pattern and trailing streamers of dust that suggest a head-on collision between two asteroids. Astronomers have long thought the asteroid belt is being ground down through collisions, but such a smashup has never been seen before.
Asteroid collisions are energetic, with an average impact speed of more than 11,000 miles per hour, or five times faster than a rifle bullet.
"If this interpretation is correct, two small and previously unknown asteroids recently collided, creating a shower of debris that is being swept back into a tail from the collision site by the pressure of sunlight," Jewitt said.
